This is the special 5,000th Lightning kit, and I used the kit decals.  I  used Testors Ford Engine Red for the paint, and was pleased with how it turned out.

The kit itself was a real test, as there was very poor fit of the major assemblies (fuselage, booms, and tail) resulting in much puttying, sanding, and general frustration.
