This is the 1/48 Academy Minicraft F4U-4B.  I built this model mostly out of box, except I used True detail wheels and Super Scale decal sheet number 48-121.

I built up the aircraft per the instructions and the model went together fairly easily, the fit was well and the use of filler was only needed around the belly of the aircraft near the wing roots. I then primed and painted the aircraft Dark Sea Blue and then clear coated and applied the decals.  After these set for a few days I clear coated again with Semi-gloss clear to give the aircraft a slightly weathered look.   

This aircraft number 62979 was assigned to VMA-323 and flew out of Chin Chan, Korea in the summer of 1952.
