This my F-104X that has as a base an old ESCI's F-104S.  I was interested in building a combo formed by a F-104 and a F-16.  In the course of building it, I changed the project completely and this is the final result.

The cockpit interior is from an F-16 Hasegawa including the seat. The canopy is a completely polished version of the original F-104's canopy.
The wings are a modified version of the originals taken from an old A-7D ever from Esci.
The fuselage is more long than the original thanks to the use of two plugs in the front and rear.
The air intakes are longer and larger and the tail is completely rebuilt because the original tail group of the F-104S would have looked too much slimmer if compared to the size of the resulting F-104X.

The base sand color is Xtracolor. The smoke rings are made freehand using a watercolor pen refilled with Tamiya Olive Green paint. The decals come from the archive.
The complete process has seen me employed on it for around 9 months.
