No account is necessary for an aeroplane so much known by virtually everyone in the world. The D version was an enhanced type developed in 1942. She was used both in Russia than in the Middle East and was a very sturdy and reliable ground attack machine.

This is a my very old work. As known a far better kit is now available, such the Italeri one but at that time this one was not so bad. I built up a complete cockpit complex into it and I modified it in order to obtain the D-5 version for ground combat role armed with 20mm wing cannons. The colours used, all in the Humbrol range, were Hellblau 65 (H.65) on the undersurfaces and Snow White distemper camouflage (H.34) with Dark Green blotches (HB.1/30) on the uppers. Yellow bands below the wing tips and on the tail, as per Russian front. Decals were those supplied in the kit, with no swastika…of course!

Happy modelling to all the ARCair friends!  Paolo
