1/48 Dragon UH-1D Iroquois

Here is my recently finished Australian Army UH-1H Huey.  It is mostly OOB with the exception of a couple of aerials, which were scratch built.  I used the mini guns from the 1/35 MRC Huey Frog kit and the rockets, exhaust heat shield and oil cooler heat shield are from Fireball Modelworks' Resin UH-1H/V Aircraft Survivability Equipment Update set.  Unfortunately I broke one of the resin engine heat shields so have left these off.

It was painted with Mr Hobby acrylics and lightly weathered with black and brown pastel chalks.

Brief History
Delivered on 05/07/68 to 9 Sqn Vietnam.  Involved in relief operations in Indonesia after the tsunami in 2004.  Was in Service 171 Sqn - 1st Aviation Regiment.  Served with Army Aviation Training Centre, retired by 12/2007.  Delivered to RAAF Amberley Heritage Centre 11/2010 for display repainted in RAAF colours (ADF Serials).
