This is my 1/48 scale Academy P-47D in the markings of an aircraft flown by Lt. Earl Kielgass of the 396 FS, 368 FG, Chievres, Belgium in November 1944.

The kit went together very well and I had very little filing and sanding to do. I used a Tamiya Curtis Electric propeller, scratch built the seatbelts and the fin fillet. I covered the model in aluminum foil and used Lifelike Decals #48-011 for the markings.

I am gradually improving my skills with the aluminum foil and this project looks much better than I had anticipated.
