Surprised I had yet to do "this" one yet. After the Falklands
War Britain was short on its NATO commitment after sending some Phantoms down to guard the sheep farm. So they did a logical thing and bought 15 lightly used X-US Navy/ Marine airframes. In fact the one I modelled here used to be one of three Black Bunnies as used by VX-4.

images below to see larger images The model is the good old Tamiya F-4J with Eduard photo etch cockpit. Quick boost intake covers and Yellowhammer decals to make a 74 squadron F-4J(UK).
The only real modification from a USN build is the addition of the guy in backs periscope. If I remember correctly the periscope is the sight unit from a retired Chieftain main battle tank. I used a left over cockpit sight from my recent F-4C to F-4B conversion.
As I type this I am trying to decide weather to push out one last Phantom for 2020, or maybe something else. "phantom"
