This is the smaller HK B-17G in only 1:48 scale. But it's still big. Actually, it was slightly too big for my workbench but undeterred I set out to build this iconic ship. The HK kit is actually quite a simple one with minimal parts but nonetheless great detail. I added some extras from Eduard to enhance the detail anyway and that all went pretty well. Unfortunately some parts decided to start their own adventure after I closed the fuselage and the navigation table actually found it's way outside and there is no way for me to put it back in there.

The main landing gear in the kit is fully extended which doesn't look right when it's sitting on the tarmac so I ordered a set of brass main gear legs which look very nice and also feel a lot more sturdy. The wheel wells look really nice by the way and I really enjoyed building those.

I painted the exterior with MrHobby aqueous colours but I'm not happy with the recent changes in colour. It meant I had to respray half the underside of the kit once I had to switch to a new container. So, if they're reading along.. Please stop that.
Besides that, painting went pretty well and I made this bomber tired but still in good technical condition. I hope you like it :)
