This is my Revell
1/72 P-47D Thunderbolt bubbletop. The kit it self was a joy to build and has very
impressive detail, especially in the cockpit interior. I finished my model with
Alclad2 'Aluminum' for the overall airframe, invasion stripes were sprayed
using Humbrol enamels.
The Decals come from
Eagle Strike European Thunderbolts Pt.1(No.72001) . The markings on my model are
those of Capt. Ben Mayo of the 8th air force based in the UK June 1944. This
colour scheme is worn by the Duxford based UK airshow performer.
The trickiest part
of this kit was getting the one piece cowling checkerboard decal on in one go!
