This is the 1/ 72 scale Testors Kit
that wasn't on the market too long. The markings I used are for the Michigan ANG
from my scrap box. The markings are not quite accurate for this type of aircraft
as I understand that Mich ANG did not use this particular aircraft for what I
modeled it after. I just liked the looks of the ANG markings. So it's depiction
is not totally accurate. The BMF is a combination of Floquil Old Silver and
Platinum Mist, MM Flourescent Orange and Model Car Works White Lacquer, the
cowls are Alclad 2. All the Orange is taped in and not decals as the decals for
these areas were horrible. This was the hardest and most time consuming part of
the project, in fact the whole color scheme was very time consuming and at times
very frustrating. Patience won out though. The exhaust stains on the top of the
wings is Alphacolors Pastel Chalks.
My Testors C-119 purchased on E-Bay.
This particular kit was OOP but has been re-issued.
