  Chile Independence Day 2007

In a way to commemorate our Chilean National Day I like to share with you these pics of my Chilean Air Force (FACh) T-33A that used to serve in the Grupos Nș7, Nș9 and Nș12.  In 1967 many Silver Stars based on Punta Arenas AB where painted in a 3 tone scheme: brown, grey and green. Most of the Chilean's T-33A and F-80C flew until 1974.

This Hasegawa kit is very old (I found it in eBay), and is a good choice for the 1/72 scale modellers.  The detail is quiet good and the canopy very clear.  The decals were too yellow because of the years (maybe 20 or more...).  I scratch built many parts of the cockpit like the front and rear panels, hand sticks, seat belts.  For the painting stage I used Humbrol 191 and Model Master Metalizers.  The decals belong to a special Chilean set that sells here.  I applied them after a coat of Future. For weathering, I used pastels.  Finally, I sprayed a coat of Model Master Metalizer sealer.

VIVA CHILE!!!!
