1/144 Revell British Airways Concorde G-BOAF

Hi everyone, this is my 3rd submission of a 144 scale Revell sleek and sexy Concorde airliner in its recent (& last) British Airways livery. The Revell kit is detailed and I simply loved the decals and its details too. This kit had a great deal of challenges, especially in mating the upper and lower halves of the delta wing (spent lots of time puttying and sanding the gaps) and constructing/detailing the Rolls Royce Snecma engines as well. But the end result is worth it.

The wing roots posed a great challenge in filling the tiny gaps, therefore, I used a quick and effective method, (which I picked up some years ago while reading an issue of Fine Scale Modeller), of a lady who used nail polish remover and a cotton swap to remove unwanted putty without causing too much damage to the plastic surface through the use of wet sandpaper. However, I would advise that the fumes from the solution is quite pungent and may wish to use some sort of protective face mask while doing this.

Once the model is puttied up, it was covered with several coats of gloss white and decaled with lots of reference to the pictures posted on www.airliners.net (its a great reference website for airliner modelling). Thereafter, a protective clear coat was sprayed on after everything is finished and dried.

This model was presented to a generous friend who had wished to travel in the Concorde some years ago. I plan to build another British Airways Concorde for my wife (as you can see from the picture), who loves the sexy shape of this classic airplane too :-). Hope you enjoy the pictures and artwork.

Best Regards,

David C S Teo
