THE AIRCRAFT: The famous Focke-Wulf 190 was one of the best fighter to take to the skies during W.W.2.  Designed by that genius of Doct. Kurt Tank and equipped with another bit of the German engineering excellence, the superlative B.M.W. 801 engine, she gave many headache to the Britons and she became a severe shock for the Fighter Command at the end of 1941.  During September of that year she began to knock-out the famous Spitfires over the Channel and the RAF lost her supremacy in those skies. In 1944 a new version of this jewel appeared, the ‘190D “long-nose”, after an in-line Jumo engine had been fitted.

This new fighter was another masterpiece of the German engineering and could outclass real champions like even P-51, P-47 and Tempest.

This kit is the 2nd generation of the 1/72nd scale Airfix serie I.  It’s a very nice kit and I built it straight OOB to match the famous German Ace Gerhard Barkhorn’s plane when he was JG6 GeschwaderKommodore during 1945.  Decals came like a “collage” from the spare box. The colours used are all in the Humbrol range and are Braunviolet RLM81 = 98, Dunkelgrun RLM82 = 86 and Weissblau RLM76 = 122 .

Many regards from Italy!
