This new decal sheet from Fightertown Decals includes markings for 6 different 1/48 F-14A's....from OEF-OIF II.

There is a long list of people that helped on this sheet including Craig Kaston, Tailhook Association, Doug Siegfried, Skyhawk Association, David Aungst, Mike Pister and Thomas "Fury".  Well done Guys!!!

These 6 Tomcats with VF-211 feature jets that served in OEF and OIF  II on the Last Tomcat Cruise.  Four of the jets have red and white checkerboard on the rudders along with red markings over most of the jet.   And 2 of them feature the black anti-glare panels fore and aft of the canopy that are so well known on the Tomcat.

The instructions are clear and include 2 side views of each aircraft along with generic top views of the 2 paint schemes featured on this decal sheet.  The decals are beautifully printed on 3 decal sheet with 2 insert decal sheets and includes landing gear decals, pilot patch decals, ejection seat decals, Lantirn Pod decals, formation light decals and helmet decals.  Plus a set of data markings for each aircraft and typical loadout information. The quality of the decals is first rate.

The F-14 will have a special place in most people hearts  for it's innovative swept wing design and it's pure raw performance as a fighter with the later model being able to stand on their tails and go vertical to altitude.  It was a jet that seemed to capture everything good about American design and styling.  It has flown it's last mission with the USN.  As modellers we are able to capture the VF-211 Checkmates F-14A Tomcat in all it's glory thanks to this decal sheet from Fightertown Decals.  Now it's up to you to decide which one of these 6 jets to build.....decisions....decisions......

Steve
