This
new decal sheet
from Zotz Decals includes
markings for six P-47's...all with noseart....most with sexy noseart.
But what really caught
my eye was the P-47 with sexy noseart and D-Day stripes.
-
P-47D-25,
"Rozie Geth II" serial # 42-226628 flown by Col. Fred J.
Christensen Jr., 62nd FS/58th FG. Col Christensen was the
first 8th Air force pilot to shoot down 6 planes in a single
mission. He ended the war with 21.5 victories in aerial
combat. Plane wears 21 victory markings. Noseart
features a naked lady and the script "Rozie Geth II" and
partial D-Day stripes.
-
P-47D-28-RA,
"Passionate Patsy" serial # 42-29091 of the 310th FS/58th
FG., flown by Lt. Ralph Barnes, Lingayan, Luzon in May 1945.
Plane wears 21 victory markings. Noseart features a brunette
with long legs in a bikini and the script "Passionate
Patsy" and black stripes on the wings and fuselage.
-
P-47D-28RA,
"Daddy Rabbit" serial # 42-29262 of the 391st FS/366th FG.,

P-47D-28-RE,
"Sleepy Jean the 3rd" serial # 42-28641 flown by Lt. William J.
Weyland, 395th FS/368th FG., St. Dizier, France in May 1945. Plane
wears 4 victory markings and many, many mission markings. Noseart
features a blonde lady wearing a see-thru outfit and the script "Sleepy
Jean II" and red stripes coming back from the nose. You get
painting templates (not pre-cut masks) for the red stripes on the
nose......so paint that area red, cut the template, apply it as a mask and
then paint the rest of the plane.
-
P-47D-28-RA,
"Dorothy K" serial # 42-28473 flown by Lt. Talmadge Ambrose, 410th
FS/373rd FG. with the 9th Air Force. Lt. Talmadge Ambrose scored 4
victories in one day in this aircraft. Plane wears 5 victory
markings. Noseart features a big red heart with the script
"Dorothy K".
-
P-47D-28,
"Virginia" serial # 42-28608 flown by Robert Brulle, 390th
FS/366th FG. Noseart features a sexy red head with a see thru outfit
and the script "Virginia" and partial D-Day stripes.
The instructions are clear and
include 2 or 3 color views of each aircraft. The decals are printed on 2
large decal sheets in perfect register to a very high quality that we've all
come to expect from Eli over at Zotz Decals. The recommended kit to use for
these 1/24 decals is the 1/24th Vintage Fighter Series P-47D. Eli
has captured a great selection of P-47's on this sheet and I know the one with
D-Day stripes and all the victory markings is my favourite, but all the other
planes are also quite appealing.
You can order this decal sheet
from the Zotz
Decals website.
