Dragan Cvetic
has done a lovely job on his 1/72 LM Resin Soko J-22
Orao. This is a resin kit that built up into an excellent
model in Dragan's skilled hands. Dragan used a needle for the
Pitot tube and finished his Orao in Yugoslav markings and camo.
The landing gear on this one looks particularly delicate. It
is a beauty.

|
 |
Jens Gerber
is here with his excellent 1/48 ICM Bf 109 F4/ R6. The
Luftwaffe camo schemes from WW2 are difficult to do, but Jens got
this one looking perfect. I love all the added detail
including the engine detailing. This is a fantastic looking
109.

|
|
|
 |
Jean-Charles Goddet
has done a wonderful
job detailing and finishing his 1/72 Hasegawa Lockheed
Martin F-16D. Jean-Charles finished his Viper in Royal
Singapore Air Force markings in a special and very colorful
anniversary scheme and then gave it the weapons load and weathering
as he saw the actual jet at an airshow at Luke AF base.. This is
a very cool looking RSAF jet.

Massimo Busolini has
done a stunning job on his 1/32

and very realistic looking. He explains his weathering
techniques in his article. I love the model and the airport
runway.

I'm
loading the updates for the rest of the week today. In
10 hours we begin
the journey to Angel's grandparents modest farm in the hills out in
the countryside, which is a 4 hour bus ride and then 30 minute ride
in the back of a 4x4 truck up a very crude road. On
Friday about 100 members of Angel's extended family will gather
for a big annual family reunion and party. It should be quite
the event with me being the only non-Filipino in attendance and of
course Angel's tiny 91 year old great grandmother will be
there. There will be tasty Filipino food and drink and much
merriment....Filipinos know how to party.

Zhou
Kun joins us from China with an excellent looking 1/48 Tamiya
F-117A Nighthawk. This F-117 was built mostly OOB with

model. |

Tim
Cvetic is here with the very neat looking 1/72 Gremlin Models
Utva Aero 3. This was a small civilian aircraft, but I'll
let you read the whole story in Tim's article. This is a resin
kit so it required a bit more effort than usual and Tim did
scratchbuild a few parts such as the instrument panel.
The finished model is a pleasure to see and the article is quite
interesting. |

Busy day
yesterday.....breakfast at McDonalds (special treat here) then took
a trike-taxi (100cc motorbike with a 7 passenger side car) ride up
to the very famous Puka beach at the top end of the island.
This is where the Puka Necklace is from....water was crystal clear
with gentle waves. It was the first time there for most of us
including Angel......and we all had a grand time. Then a quiet
outdoor dinner for 7 at the poolside restaurant at Cohiba
resort...before wandering back to my favourite restaurant
"Ole" for Mango shakes to wind down the evening. It
a very relaxing trip.

After 36 hours of
traveling I've arrived at the tourist island of Boracay,
Philippines. Boracay is like Waikiki in Hawaii and full of
Asian tourists...mostly from China, Taiwan and Korea. They get
cheap package deals much like we get for Las Vegas. Angel was
at the airport to meet me....she is looking good. It took me a
couple of days to settle in and adjust to the time change and figure
out an internet connection. The Philippines is warm and and
the people are friendly and everyone speaks english....it is far
away but well worth the effort. Today is a quiet day at home
resting and relaxing.

Vladimír Žucha
has done a gorgeous job finishing and weathering his
1/32 Revell Messerschmitt Bf-109G-14. Vladimír
finished his 109 in Croatian markings for an aircraft at the end of
the war using custom made decals. I love the colors of the
camo scheme on Vladimír's Croatian fighter.

Shawn "Phantom" Weiler
has redone a model he built long long ago. This is
Shawn's 1/48 Hasegawa F-4G Phantom #177, which he figures was
his first 1/48 Phantom and now it is sporting a rare Phantom paint
scheme from the Viet Nam war. I always enjoy seeing Shawn's
work and ARC and it is exciting to see one of his first models on
the ARC homepage. I'm glad Shawn saved this model and rebuilt
it.

3.1 is here to finish off this Easter Egg update with his very
amusing Tie-Egg. Oddly enough this looks like it could
have been an actual model from the Star Wars movie. Too bad

Shawn "phantom" Weiler
gets things off to a good start today with his 1/48 Skunkworks HH-60H.
Shawn built this beauty with Eduard photo etch and finished it
as a USN helo with HS-2 Tridents. I love the way this one
turned out.....the folded rotors look quite good. I love
seeing Shawn's models on ARC.

one of those complicated looking North African camo schemes. Mike
enhanced his Ju 88 quite a bit with excellent results including
